Plant Description
A sprawling, scrambling, branched and woody vine, with tendrils, often covering entire trees.
Woody vine; young twigs densely woolly, mature bark shreds in long strips; leaves alternate, simple heart-shaped; flowers appear opposite the leaves, tiny with 5 white petals; fruits black grapes.
Habitat
Found in canyons and along streams.
Leaves
Dark green, broadly heart-shaped, coarsely toothed to 6 inches long and 4-3/4 inches wide.
Flowers
Small white with 4 or 5 petals. Flowers are in loose clusters that are open and strongly branched.
Fruit
Clusters of 1/4 inch waxy grapes.
