Lacey, multiple stemmed plant with leaves primarily at the base. Multiple bright yellow flowers top each stem.
Mid leaves divided into 3 to 7 linear or filament shaped lobes less than 2 mm wide. Flowers and sets seeds once (monocarpic). Leaves are somewhat hairy. In Arizona there are twelve different species of Hymenoxys.
Habitat
Plant grows in dry, rocky areas, along roadsides, in open areas, and the edges of juniper-pine forests.

There are numerous stalks of flowers which have straggly rays and orangish discs. The flowers grow to 1 inch wide and the stalks are up to 4 inches long.
